April Lara is on a mission to ignite teacher passion! As a CEO of a high-risk youth program in the Chicago Public Schools, she saw the positive transformation in students once they were taught meaningful life skills typically missing from traditional school curriculum.
Frustrated by the lack of tools and training available for educators to reinforce these important lessons, April wrote Becoming Awesome! followed by a PD for educators: Rejuvenate! Igniting Teacher Passion. This PD is an adult SEL strategy training program to refresh educators' own knowledge of SEL and life skills curricula. Educators embody these lessons to more naturally bring them into their classrooms.
April's book and training programs are for anyone who wants to maximize youth potential and develop their own personal potential.
As a speaker and workshop leader, April inspires others to one up to the miracle in their life. She holds a BSBA degree from Aquinas College. A lifelong Cubs fan, April lives in Chicago – just a mile awry from Wrigley Field with her family.
